A couple of hours in the sun will give them all a nice tan. Then use a natural finish. Naturally aged cherry looks so much better than stained cherry, IMO.

General Finishes Vintage Cherry Dye Stain looks very nice on cherry. I used it to even out the color of some bookcases. I first used Charles Neils' Pre Color Conditioner with great results. No blotching at all.

Nobody else has mentioned it, but lye  will stain cherry darker and faster than anything else. Only problem might be getting it too dark!

I spray dye.  Only way I've found to truly eliminate blotching.  Simple, one step process, too.
