hard-wire a remotely controlled ceiling fan/light to wall switch?
#5
I have this switch already installed in the wall with a 3-wire (black/white/red/ground) running into the ceiling:

Wish to install this fan, but do not want remote control, want to fully control from the wall switch:

Does anybody have instructions for properly doing so?
Thanks

So, when I remodeled the upstairs, I ran 3 conductor wire to all the ceiling fan boxes only to find out that you can't install a modern remote control fan on a 3 conductor circuit. I read about a few "fixes" to separate the fan from the light and tried a couple but none worked.

In my mind, I still think I can rewire the guts of the fan and separate the light from the fan but I wasn't able to do it. Don't remember why I couldn't do it but I couldn't

I came to a stop sign and a skanky tweaker chick in a tube top climbed out of the brush and propositioned me.  She looked like she didn't have any teeth so I counted that as a plus.

Actually, for this particular fan and switch, I found I could simply wire the 3-wire from the wall directly bypassing the internal receiver, and everything works fine.
