I'm going to be cutting a lot of sheet goods and don't have room for a permanent outfeed table - hence, looking for a folder. There seem to be two options, a Sawstop and a Grizzly/HTC. The Grizzly doesn't have legs which makes me worried that it would be tippy, so I'm curious about folks' experience with the Sawstop folder. Specifically, this:

A second question - Sawstop doesn't have a compatibility list, but from the manual it looks like it just clamps to the rear rail. Can someone with a Sawstop measure the distance from the top of the rear rail to the top of the saw?

2 1/4".... if I correctly understand which measurement you need. (I should add: it's a metric 2 1/4", so call it 2 1/4" + a smidge)
I started with absolutely nothing. Now, thanks to years of hard work, careful planning, and perseverance, I find I still have most of it left.

I have the HTC folding roller table and it is awesome for a small shop when you want to be able to fold it away for more space. I have never found that the assembly is unstable on my Unisaw but maybe on a smaller/lighter saw it could have issues. With that being said, if you have the space then just build a simple outfeed table

I built a fold-away outfeed table for my SawStop and used these folding leg brackets:

I also used some simple furniture/appliance levelers for the legs. Works great.

I have the HTC on my Unisaw also. Definitely not unstable. Really like the fact that I can raise and lower it with one hand and it doesn’t interfere with the dust collection port. I wouldn’t hesitate building my own if I didn’t have the HTC.

It's two-part video and the second part follows. Looks super easy to mod to most saws.
This design has been around a while; I considered it back when I was working in a two-car garage shared space.

Thanks, everyone! The Grizzly has a U-shaped rear rail and the top is pretty close, so HTC it'll be. I wish I had the time to build one, but - even with COVID - no time.

I have a dedicated outfeed table, but I wanted to increase length beyond the outfeed table.
I attached angle iron onto the back side of the outfeed.
Then attached angle iron on the bottom side of a conveyor rollrer so that it fits over the edge of the angle iron in the narrow space between the outfeed tablle and angle iron.
I have two conveyor rollers. The end of the conveyor roller not cliped onto the outfeed table rest on a rolling cabinet made specifically for this purpose.
