cant get to forums

When I click on "Woodworking" to see the new posts I keep getting a screen that says:

This site can’t be reached

Check if there is a typo in cloudfront-origin.forums.woodnet.net.
  • If spelling is correct, try running Windows Network Diagnostics.

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

But if I click on say HandTools or the S&S, I can see those.

You may still have some old IP addresses for some areas in your cache.

Try logging in through
https://www.woodnet.net/
and see if your problem goes away.

Nope. Same problem.

Logging out, dumping cache, logging in again using address above, same problem.

Acts like some kind of database corruption.

This is a new problem for me. I am not sure what else to suggest unless you have another browser installed. If you do, then trying it from a different browser might help narrow the problem down.

In the mean time, please tell us what OS and browser you are using in case the next person has some insight about the source of the problem.

Another data point :

Seems to have more trouble using Chrome on the phone (mobile view).
V 87.0.4280.14, Android 10

Experimented with mobile and desktop view on the phone and both exhibited the same problem which looks strikingly like a database corruption issue.

On the PC (Windows 10 Home 64bit -- this is the laptop, haven't checked desktops) and build 19042.746 with Chrome 87.0.4280.141 the behavior is similar but NOT exactly the same.  Sometimes after repeated tries (which doesn't work on mobile browser) it will finally complete the page load. Today for example it took 3 tries.

I think the Edge browser is forcibly installed on my windows PCs but I haven't checked. Firefox got nixed because the university IT set down rules that FF can't be used on their network and I sometimes take in the laptop to work. So I just blew it off all my machines to keep things consistent. If I get desperate enough I'll try Edge. Icky.

I finally got cleared on my laptop (Chrome on MacOS); finally got the cache cleared.

Still not right on my Android phone; I've cleared the cache, all the cookies.  Can't get into the Woodworking forum on the Android.  Get same message you reported.

Try using this link to access woodworking.

If that does not work, try using this link.

I am hoping that one of the 2 will work.

Thanks for reporting back. Unfortunately, I am out of ideas.

Hopefully, someone else has an idea.
