Tool Chest
#11
Ciao
In recent times I did not post much, however here it is my last work. I needed a case for my hand tools and always had the wish of building a traditional tool chest.
I used silver fir for the box and drawers, beech for the skirts. Finishing is casein tempera (milk paint) and linseed oil diluted with mineral spirit (50%).
Regards

Giuliano

This is a gorgeous and well-thought piece! Thanks for sharing it with us. Ciao....
Heirlooms are self-important fiction so build what you like. Someone may find it useful.

Refreshing design on the drill box.

Are the tools on the bottom loosely placed, or is the bottom notched out? Also roughly, how many shop hours spent excluding the finishing part?

Good job on the short clip......some people would've turned it into a movie-length video.

Very nice.  Superbly executed.

Does that hold all of your tools?  I started building a tool chest and found I added enough planes since starting that they no longer fit.

Thanks for sharing.

Very nicely done.  I really like the clever drill related box.

Thank you all for appreciating my work.
It is difficult for me to quantify how many hours I spent for building the chest because I worked during two months in a non-continuative manner.
The chest does not contains all my tools, but with it is possible to realize little or medium sized pieces working by hand. For example those tools have been used for building the entire chest.
The planes simply rest on the bottom.
Grazie
