Connections for Basement Floor Drain
#4
I am replacing the floor Drain in my basement. The house is 45 years old. The pipe is cast iron. I dug out the drain
The floor drain and most the pipe was actually in good shape. A 45 degree fitting next to the drain broke and was corroded. I am replacing the drain and connections with abs. When I connect the abs fitting to the cast iron sewer system. Should I use a rubber coupling or a steel sleeve coupling? It will be buried  again and covered with cement .

Use a Fernco coupling.

Bad experiences come from poor decisions. So do good stories.
