I really like the looks of your Gent's saw, Pedder. I've never seen such a shallow blade outside model making. Does it have a specific use?
Heirlooms are self-important fiction so build what you like. Someone may find it useful.

Indeed it has a use: When I carve the lambs tongue on our closed handles,
the very first step is a cut along the line. Then I carve the detail, the chips are free beause of the first cut.

At this saw it is not about the cut but it is about the cerve.
