This is a saw made from a handle Klaus made as one of his last.

The olive wood was a bit to wet and worked. a little crack at the lambs tonguze appeared.

Klaus closed it with super glue, but it is visible. So Klaus abandonded the handle and gave it to mee with all the wood and tools in 2019.
Last weekend I made a saw of it because the handle is too nice to be firewood. But the wood has moved a bit more in the mean time.
The cerve for the blad has closed. I had to saw it open. And widen the slot for the spine. Another crack appeared, but I closed it, too.

Du to the wood movement, the slots and cerve became uncoplanar. Causeses a light ogee curve.

Now she sit on the shelf and looks for someone to give her a home..

That’s one gorgeous saw. I’m glad you were able to save the olive. Certainly worth the effort.

That is beautiful wood ... but not so sure I would trust it in the long-term.

I am full of details, now that I am finishing wood decking projects. It's fun to come up with fixes and tweaks that turn into bits and bobs, part of a design. One I notice in your images is the medallion. I read "TLT" as "tilt", as in "the sign is tilted." Your medallion is slightly tilted and I see it as intended.
Cool
Heirlooms are self-important fiction so build what you like. Someone may find it useful.

Thank you Ron. It is not only the wood, but the work of Klaus that was worth the effort.

Cool

The possition of the medaillon was one of the many details Klaus and i duscussed heavily.
he position can be changed to the taste of the owner.

I think the wood is stabile now. The crack appeared, when I tried to straighten the blade working the spine...
