Mini split install
#5
There's been a few threads re; A.C.s lately. One I replied on, I commented that some mini-splits are installed without performing a pressure test and evacuation. What are your thoughts  and/or experiences with this?

I think it's a good way to experience the fun of losing coolant.

But I guess in much of the world it's pretty common, they are meant to be installed by unskilled workers.

I have a regular AC unit that I installed myself.  It came precharged and the line also were precharged.  It has not lost any pressure and works good.
