There used to be a couple of WNers who could whip something this simple out easily in their machine shop. If memory serves, Engeneer and Cape Cod were 2 of them.

Probably a long shot, but it might be worth asking up in HandTools whether there was someone who could make you a pair.

My guess is that, for user tools, you don't care whether each tool has 2 welds or is cut out of a single piece of bar stock.

Exactly. That’s nowhere near the same thing. The ones I’m talking about are small and compact.
