"It looks like a good design. Since there's no center drawer you might consider a shallow pencil drawer on each side. Your current top drawers are too deep to keep pencils, pens, notepads etc. Either that or make a tray to fit in the top drawer."

I'm thinking at least one tray that can lift out to fit some stuff underneath as well in one of the shallow drawers. Maybe two.

I honestly don't handwrite very much these days anyway.
