Anyone have a Wishbone chair and use it as a dining chair? I see plenty of them pictured at dining tables, but the arms seem too high to be comfortable. Maybe they're not supposed to be used as an armrest. My wife is trying to convince me that's what she wants, but I'm not convinced.

How tall is your chair from the floor to the tip of the arm?

I agree with you...that is too high to be an arm rest.

That would be my guess.

the upper crest comes around, but doesn't appear to be an arm rest, looks like it would support back of upper chest, about where your scapula or wingbone would be. would they get in the way of the back of your upper arms. would want to know width at the front along with height.

I have trouble picturing a chair that is less comfortable to sit in than one that puts all of the back support as pressure directly on the spine and as a ridge that runs just below the shoulder blades. Their elbow chair design looks like it might be less comfortable, though, depending on the curvature of the vertical for the wishbone chair.
If you take a stool and strap a 2"x2" to one of its legs, your wife can consider whether that is the sort of back support that she wants at her dining table. She can try it for a couple of meals and see if she like it.
Of course, I have experienced enough uncomfortable styles of dining table chairs in my life that I may just value comfort over art-for-art-sake.
