Thanks for all the replies. I got another quote for going back with shingles.

GAF HDZ arch shingles ~$16K.  I think this is where we're going.  He is a certified contractor if that matters.

We've never like the fading and oxidizing of the metal, already had painted ($4000).

Hopefully it will be the last roof we have to do, if it lasts 30 years I'll be 96 or dead.

Interesting about roof pitch.  Mine is just under 5/12.  The other shingle roof we had always look terrible with black milder or mold.  Every couple years we would bleach it.

And I can either sell the metal or scrap it.  3' ribbed metal is going for almost $6/foot here!!

Thanks for the replies, you all. I had a question about whether I should choose a metallic DELETED LINK or a wooden one, and now I lean towards the metallic one. It’s safer in terms of preventing mold from getting inside.
It also looks better to my mind because aluminum is beautiful when it’s covered by white paint. It all depends on the person, but I think that it looks better than wood. However, I like wooden things, and I like when porches are made of wood. They make the house look entirely different and change the whole atmosphere outside. But it’s porches and not siding. The siding should be made of metal.

For insulation, you can cover the wooden walls of the house with a layer of foam, which copes well with thermal insulation. Also, if I were you, I'd replace the wooden roof with something more modern and water-resistant. The wood will bend under the pressure of numerous rains and further humidity, even though there's no attic in your house. Think about finding the top Indianapolis roof company for you. Such roof specialists will be able to insulate your roof and cover it with the best waterproof materials. They may tell you to upgrade the wooden roof frames so that you don't have to do it again in the next two years.
