What are good places to look for steel hardware for slab tables?
(I'm thinking of the u-shaped bars sometimes inset on solid wood tops to help hold the top flat; or metal bases to go with slab tops)

I've seen Symmetry Hardware mentioned by Blacktail studio; any other recommendations?

thanks,
Matt

I DIYed mine using C-channel from Home Depot. Separately off eBay I bought threaded inserts and flat head bolts. I drilled oversized holes in the C-channel for expansion/contraction and the bolt heads are wide enough that they don't slip through. After my channel was cut and drilled, I wiped them down with solvent to remove the oils and then sprayed them black from a rattle can.

It was probably 30-50% of the price of buying premade ones I've seen online.
