Did a little modification to my Grizzly combo Belt / Disc sander. Was not happy with the dust collection.
So I added a small shield for the disc sander.
Then a dust chute/shield for the belt side. Comes off when a belt needs changing.

Greatly enhanced the dust collection.

I rarely if ever move the table off 90 degrees to the platen, so no issues.

Not to diminish your efforts, but it all looks pretty straight forward.  You have to wonder why the manufacturer wouldn't add those things (aside from the obvious of cost savings on their part).

I agree completely, for a manufacturer, really I think penny's in cost to do so
