I'm remaking the desk piece and the lock didn't turn out very well on the original piece. Anyone know of a video to help me through this with less pain? Suggestions are always welcome.

Jim,  are you still working on the Secretary?  When I read slat desk, I thought you meant roll top.  Post a photo of your lock, that may help in terms of suggestions.
