I always though I shoulda got a Purple Heart for being wounded in VietNam. You get a Purple Heart for being wounded in action by the enemy in a war zone. I got punched out in the NCO Club by a fellow aircrew member. And yes, libations of an alcoholic sort were involved. Some might quibble the point; however, we WERE in a war zone, I DID get wounded, it WAS from enemy action (at the time, he was most definitely my enemy.) So there you have it. All the criteria for award of the Purple Heart. But the closest I came to my Purple Heart was turning a few pieces now and anon...
