Anyone done this?
So far what I've read is everything from several washes with mineral spirits to a total stripping.
I need to refinish using a varnish. I have Total Boat Wax Surface prep.

Get out your sander(s).
Spirits aren’t going to work.
Stripper might , I’ve never tried it though. You’re gonna have to sand the piece after that anyway so might as well geT after it is my view.

Could you seal with shellac and use varnish over that?

Talked to Osmo they said sand it. Other's I've talked to on another forum say everything from stripper to "you can't get it off".
I have thought about shellac sealer and varnish.
