It looks like that one was made by the installer out of a flooring plank. He/she probably cut off the tongue, sanded and finished. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a notch under it where it covers the carpet edge.

I came to a stop sign and a skanky tweaker chick in a tube top climbed out of the brush and propositioned me.  She looked like she didn't have any teeth so I counted that as a plus.
