Termite Monitoring?

Sentricon is the only monitor I know that has the termiticide out all the time.    There are probably others I don’t know about.  I’ve always used a straight cellulose monitor/cartridge until any sign of activity.  I can’t say my way is better or worse.  Sentricon has been around for a long time.  There may be a cost difference between the two products that the company would see, but the homeowner may not.

Is there a monitor/cartridge you would recommend that a non-licensed person could buy?

It’s the termiticide that you’ll have trouble buying. Which honestly is a shame. It’s a growth inhibitor that works in very low concentrations. It stops the termite from making its exoskeleton. They can’t mate because they can’t reach maturity, then they die. If you ate a pound of it, you may have trouble growing fingernails for a bit but it’s safely in a cartridge. If you find activity, it’s easy enough to call in somebody with a termite license to fix the issue.
