Pretty brave running the rings through a planer.
What type planer blades are on that and

Whatever blades came in it. I have only lost a couple smaller rings that were less than 6in. They didnt have the surface area or weight so the back end got kicked up when the front roller grabbed it. Other than that as long as you have good joints on your segments and go slow, you dont have problems
