help identifying lathe faceplates
#6
A little help, please.  I am in the process of selling off the contents of my woodworking shop and am grouping items by area.  In the turning area I can identify most things but I have a number of faceplates that I am almost sure are aircraft aluminum and are red.  Does this ring a bell with anyone?
Thanks,
Ken

Hi Ken,

Pics would help!!!  That said, you may be describing Don Pencil's brand of faceplate.

There are other finely done faceplates, but his were very popular.

Good Luck!

Glad I could help. Saw the other post about leaving. Sorry to hear, but understand completely. Been looking  around my shop thinking it's time to pair down. Then another "great deal" on something I can't live without shows up.

Good luck with the sales. Let me know when you are ready!

Don’t forget to post the tread and size so people will know if they fit their lathe

I remember those. Always meant to get some from Don but he stopped
