If only...

It seems that the area where the saw was in the original cabinet...was merely a solid block of wood..so

I needed to cut a slot for the blade of the saw to sit in...details..

Then I needed a way to secure the saw's handle....

Insert was made, and a swivel to lock things in place..

No rattles.

I also filled in the space under the shelf...to keep the single drawer from sliding out and binding things up..

Glued in place, has no need to open up.  There is a hole to allow the knob from the drawer to sit in..

have drilled holes for the 3 bits to sit in...they are loose because the square, tapered ends are larger that the bit's shafts..

Tomorrow, I'll brush on the Witch's Brew Stain....

Stay tuned..

Makes sense. The pic looks like a drawer on my phone.

I thought so too...but a closer look showed it was a block of wood...about the size of a 2x4.....because it is also drilled to house the brill bits and such,,,what looked like a knob, is actually a slot to allow the handle of the real drawer to fit into...

Just a teaser, for now...as I am waiting for this to dry..

Stained inside and out...and has been wiped down...

Stay tuned...

Rubbed down with 0000 steel wool, and wiped off...

had to pop the doors open..1st coat wasn't looking all that great..Laid the case down on it's back..

Brushed on a 2nd coat onto the Front of the case, and 3 of the sides..the 4th side?

Wasn't enough room to properly brush the varnish on....it can wait until this evening...when I flip the case over to do the back of the case.

Well...Front has dried enough for a rub down, and then flip the case over.....back of the case and the hinge side of the case now have their second coat brushed on, am now waiting on that to dry....

Next step?    Install the hangers and magnets inside...

Claw hammer?   I have a 16oz Champion Curved claw, or.....a Capewell "1881" 16 oz. curved claw hammer...Hmmm? We'll see which looks better in there...

Ok...dry and rubbed down a bit...then flipped over, hit with 0000 steel wool and, wiped clean....the the hinge side was given a second coat..

And then the "Back" of the case got it's second coat, as well..

Including being "tipped off"

Hammer choices.....since I do not have the brand name hammer Swan called for...might just choose between these 2

A 16 oz. Champion Curved Claw, or...a 16oz. Capewell "1881" Curved claw....

The Capewell seems to be in better shape...we'll see..

Stay tuned..

Hmmm, wonder what is inside?

Opened up to take a look...

Almost by the book?

Details?

Complete with a label...

I think this Project can be called....Done.

Showing the right hand side, before I added that label....had a choice of 3 to use..

Attached with Brass screws....

Thanks for looking in!

I'm liking that. It doesn't look practical for travel but it sure looks like a good set up to put on your bench when you need it and then fold it away when you don't.

Now you just need to figure out how to fit all your other tools in there.

The question is- What are you going to build using just the tools in the box?
