I need a better mobile base! - ®smpr_fi_mac® - 03-13-2021

This mobile base came with my bandsaw when I bought it.

It's been a decade.

I hate it.

The wheels jam too easily. The swiveling wheel is a pain to use. Can you guys recommend a base that actually moves EASILY?

I build all of mine to suit the machine.  Casters are easy to find and so is the wood.  There are lots of designs on Google to chose from or you can create your own.

I have a Grizzly table saw G0771Z that I put a drop down extension table on. I purchased the T28000 and it works beyond great! I can push my saw with one hand. It's pricey now, but worth it. After build so many this is the way to go.

Have one of those under my Walker Turner 16" bandsaw - works great![Image: thumbsup.png]

Welder, angle iron, and some new castors.

Interesting how a small speck of dirt can stop those in there tracks. Get out your scuzz brush and clean Marine.

You need to build three dust collector ports for the wheels and thousands of dollars for a dust collector.

All kidding aside, larger castors would work better with a wider base. The higher it goes the more tipsy it becomes.

TBH - I have the all-metal base that came with my 14" Jet. I just don't move it much to have your problem.

Take a look at what Jack made.

Hi Brad

If you are looking for something that will roll over cords and stuff make one from 4" wheels and where one end will fold down to get the bandsaw on easy
