RE: gluing PVC trim - jteneyck - 08-14-2017

Same experience here.  The clear glue alone worked fine.  I actually bought a tube of the glue specifically made for PVC trim only to find it was too hard to use, and I needed to finish the job so I went to HD and bought the thickest clear pipe glue they had.  Worked great, and 5 years later that trim is still stuck together.

I was out looking at a potential job last week and there was a guy building porch columns on the house using pine lumber.  I asked him why he wasn't using PVC and he said it moves too much with temperature and the seams always open up unless the job is done in cold weather because parts joined then will get tighter at higher temperature.
