Put every thing back together and it works. I have no idea what I did to make it go but I aint complainin. Thanks for the great suggestions and I will keep them in mind if it happens again. Check the wiring terminations and blow out the push button station with compressed air. It worked for years, you shut it off, and it won't restart (not a sound) - sounds like dust was holding the stop button contacts open (they're normally closed), or a loose wire in the control loop, including at the overload block. Glad it's working again, regardless. RE: Contactor quit on me - Arlin Eastman - 09-05-2018 (09-04-2018, 06:08 PM)TDKPE Wrote: Can you show a pic of the internals? An old Furnas will likely have a NEMA contactor with auxiliary contacts for the push button station plus heaters for overload protection, and a transformer if it's a low-voltage control. Any of those parts should be replaceable. If it is electrical then TDKPE is the best. If it is not electrical then there is many others here who can help as well to get it fixed for a nice saw. RE: Contactor quit on me - Bob Vaughan - 09-08-2018 Try snapping the 'stop' button a bunch then hit the 'start'. Could be something as simple as dirty contacts in the control switch rather than the contactor itself. to fix the start/stop button (control or pilot), see below. Its not the Delta cover, but the internals should be the same. http://owwm.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=32071 |
