stav said it best for me …."You are obviously much better at sharpening than I."  I've had sharp knife cuts close up like your cut but never a cut from a chisel.

This sharpness aspect is interesting.  I have used this chisel rather frequently for more than ten years and I have never sharpened it.  
Uhoh   It is one of a set of Bahcos that a fellow woodnetter sharpened and gave me after my daughter died in 2008.

I marvel that it came out exactly as it went in.  The entrance (and ultimate exit) slit is exactly 1/4” long.

For a cut like that you may want to see your family doctor for some antibiotics as an ounce of prevention against infection
Come to think of it this reminds me that my tetanus booster is probably overdue
