Building this one for my soon-to-be college bound daughter. Pull on his beak to open the drawers.

Great thread, I too am looking for new ideas and that's how I found this site. I made my first bandsaw box just over a year ago and here's what I've done since. Designs were from David Picciuto, Alan Williams, and Robert Albers (the last one that's in progress).... I've been using a very old Craftsman 12" bandsaw which limits me to a max cutting height of 6" but seriously considering a Laguna 14Bx since I'm really enjoying doing this - and will be retiring soon - hopefully spending more time in the shop.

These books are available at the library for free. That's were I reviewed them.

Holy cow.

I've been needing to buy band saw blades for a while; the only two I have are for roughing green bowls. I'm looking at Timberwolf's site now, ready to pull the trigger. Is it safe to assume a 1/4" blade for this work? I'm using a 14" Delta with a riser block.

This one, maybe?

I use 1/8" blades.  I think you will be disappointed with the results using a 1/4" blade.

Alright. I'll order a couple. Thanks!

I generally use 1/8 or 3/16 inch blades.
