I was in Home Depot the other day and they have posts for composite decks. They have a white plastic sheath that slips over the structure.
Place that sheath on a table saw and you end up with two L-shaped pieces. Since 18" height is probably tall enough, each post will yield 4 corners. I'm certain that it will prove cost effective.
