RE: A Project for May? - bandit571 - 06-03-2024 Usually, I don't...takes way too long to get the smell out... Thanks for looking in! RE: A Project for May? - MarkSingleton - 06-03-2024 Another great project Bandit. Thanks for sharing it with us. RE: A Project for May? - stav - 06-04-2024 Never seen idea of adding the drain holes on the varnish can before. Thanks. Works great! RE: A Project for May? - bandit571 - 06-04-2024 Had to add a second coat to the Top of the case.. [attachment=51418] otherwise, this Project is about done...waiting on varnish to cure.. Kind of dark in that corner? [attachment=51419] Tried to lighten it up a bit..Left corner is a bit brighter, though [attachment=51420] Pulled a drawer out a tad... [attachment=51421] And a look at the front.. [attachment=51422] Thanks for looking in! RE: A Project for May? - EdL - 06-04-2024 Looks great! Excellent job. Care to share your stain mix? I use a lot of Ash, always finish with wipe on poly as I've never found a stain that looks good (to me). Ed RE: A Project for May? - bandit571 - 06-05-2024 I took all the small cans of leftover stains...and an empty quart can...and just mixed them all together...I can vary the flavour a bit, by either adding in some darker brown stains , or, in this case about half a small can of Minwax "Gunstock" Witch's Brew....remember to add the "Eye of Newt, wing of a bat..." Stir well, does not need a boiling kettle.. This way, all I ever throw away are empty cans... Next time, you might give Minwax Gunstock a try on Ash...
