Who made this brace? - DJChurn - 05-02-2017 Clearest ID is "1200". Can't quite make out patent date on I think "July 9, 1895" This has the strongest chuck I have ever encountered. RE: Who made this brace? - AHill - 05-02-2017 You have a PS&W (Peck, Stow & Wilcox, later Pexto) with the Samson chuck. Very good brace and their best chuck, IMO. The 1200 model was a 7" throw (14" sweep). Kind of a rare sized brace. The Samson chuck is the patent date you see. It was designed to hold round, as well as tanged bits. Nice find.
