Stanley No. 50 - overland - 06-25-2017 I bought one of these today -- missing the depth stop, of course--thinking I was getting a plow plane. But it's not; it's a beading plane. Has anyone ever used one of these? RE: Stanley No. 50 - bandit571 - 06-25-2017 Just change the cutter to make it a plough plane. They used both. RE: Stanley No. 50 - JimReed@Tallahassee - 06-26-2017 You can make a new depth stop using drill rod and a scrap of steel. RE: Stanley No. 50 - bandit571 - 06-26-2017 nhplaneparts even sells those stops....and about any cutter you want... Clearly a defective No. 50.....better send it to me for proper disposal ....... RE: Stanley No. 50 - overland - 06-26-2017 Sadly, it came without a set of cutters, just a single plow-style cutter. That's what confused me. But it does have a fence. Or both? http://tooltrip.com/tooltrip9/stanley/comb-planes/50man.pdf RE: Stanley No. 50 - overland - 06-26-2017 Just one fence that rides on two rods. I guess it was missing more than I thought. RE: Stanley No. 50 - Phil S. - 06-26-2017 The manual for the Stanley 50 is here: http://tooltrip.com/tooltrip9/stanley/comb-planes/50man.pdf Shows all the bits and pieces for the complete kit. Phil |
