Is this even reasonable to worry about? - Scott W - 07-11-2017 Got a new Dewalt Jobsite saw with the stand and the miter gauge is garbage. I was thinking of adding an Incra. The guide bar is steel. Am I over thinking the effects of sliding steel over an aluminum too and miter slots? RE: Is this even reasonable to worry about? - K. L. McReynolds - 07-11-2017 I have a Rigid TS2424 and use an Incra V-27 ---going on 14 years.. I also have a Porter Cable portable job site saw with an all aluminum top and use an Incra V-27---going on 13 years. No slop at all---have never readjusted the slide width on either miter gauge. RE: Is this even reasonable to worry about? - Scott W - 07-12-2017 Thank you RE: Is this even reasonable to worry about? - stav - 07-12-2017 My Incra V27 has a pad on the bottom of the gauge part and only one side of the bar makes contact with the saw. The other side has some of those low friction plastic washers that compress to take up slop in the groove. RE: Is this even reasonable to worry about? - Scott W - 07-12-2017 Thanks a lot for the replies. Looks like I'll get one. RE: Is this even reasonable to worry about? - blackhat - 07-12-2017 Find a bit of wax for the bar and slot whilst shopping. |
