Pilot hole size for JB-101 hinge? - mikefm101 - 11-17-2018 Hi I'm Installing the small Brusso JB-101 hinge in an ash box. The last time I did this I had a horrible time after drilling a smaller pilot hole than I should have used. It's a minuscule tapered screw into hardwood. What size drill bit for hardwood do you use for these hinges? Do you use a Straight bit or is there a tapered bit for screws this small? Thanks, Mike RE: Pilot hole size for JB-101 hinge? - lift mechanic - 11-18-2018 I have never installed these hinges but found this when I looked up the Brusso JB-101 hinge. Pre-drilling is recomended: For #2 screws use a 1/16" straight pilot drill or 3/32" for a tapered pilot drill. Brusso usually supplies a steel screw with their newer shipments. |
