Pilot hole size for JB-101 hinge?
#4
Hi

I'm Installing the small Brusso JB-101 hinge in an ash box.

The last time I did this I had a horrible time after drilling a smaller pilot hole than I should have used. It's a minuscule tapered screw into hardwood.

What size drill bit for hardwood do you use for these hinges?

Do you use a Straight bit or is there a tapered bit for screws this small?

Thanks, Mike

I have never installed these hinges but found this when I looked up the Brusso JB-101 hinge.

Pre-drilling is recomended: For #2 screws use a 1/16" straight pilot drill or 3/32" for a tapered pilot drill.
Treat others as you want to be treated.

Also make sure to pre-thread the drilled hole with a steel screw before attempting to use the brass ones.  Brusso usually supplies a steel screw with their newer shipments.
