Cleaning Porter Cable Router - sroxberg - 09-23-2019 1. When do you replace the brushes on a router? There appears to be about 1/4" of an inch of the actual brush left, do I let that go until there is only an 1/8" or so? 2, On the Armature there is the copper area that the Brushes rub against. The one on my router is pretty much uniformly black. Should I clean that and if yes how and with what, I was thinking some rubbing alchol and Q Tips, but wasn't sure. 3, I also blew as much dust out of the unit as I could, any other preventive maintenance I should do? 4. The bearing rotate smoothly, and I can't seem to introduce any wobble, but how do you really check those? RE: Cleaning Porter Cable Router - EightFingers - 09-24-2019 What kind of router? |
