I'm probably the only guy who did not know this..............Be sure the speed switch is FULLY engaged!!!!!!!!!!!!
Several weeks ago I tried to use my Makita 18V hammer drill but the clutch to the chuck was stripped (so it sounded). I found an almost new hammer drill on eBay for an excelent price. Had some time on my hands, so I drove 33 minutes to the new Makita Service Center, Dallas. When I described the problem, he said "check the speed switch". Sure enough, it was not FULLY engaged.
Oh well, now I have two.
