Spoken like a true nerd. Some clever nerd wrote those Stanley tool guides. They are brief but cover their subjects well. Getting that much material over in a brochure format and to a general audience is not easy.

@Jim-No surprise that you were correct about that plane. It does have a skewed iron. I played with it a little bit and it makes rabbets quite nicely.
@BENNY- The edge plane should clean up quite nicely. The iron will need to be squared up, but it's a SW.
