The picture is full length boards, I think you'll be good with that top and frame combo. One other thing, don't tighten the screws down like your torquing lug nuts, they need to be tight, but not so tight they won't slide across the frame when the wood moves.
I started with absolutely nothing. Now, thanks to years of hard work, careful planning, and perseverance, I find I still have most of it left.
