A friend gave me an old Grizzly 4 jaw chuck but it has no insert on the back. It looks like the female thread is about 1 5/8 (see pic) and my spindle is 1.25 x 8tpi. Any suggestions for a source for an insert?

I got mine from ONEWAY. Converts to 1X8TPI.

There is a wide choice of inserts / adapters here: https://bestwoodtools.stores.yahoo.net/p...dwith.html but you will need a better definition of your chuck's thread than "about 1-5/8". I don't see the one you're looking for but talk to him. He might make it for you.
