As I recall, all the GE models got good reviews from Consumer Reports. There were differences in features, but all got good reviews.

We've got a Whirlpool convection oven/MW combo.
Not too loud; Judy really likes it.

I don't know what kind of range you have but mine is a black glass range top and the only thing that the light shows up are the pots and pans that are placed on the range.

I have never liked OTR microwaves for reasons other then the noise, lighting and venting. Height and access can be an issue also. Reaching over a hot pot to get things out of a microwave can be problematic. Any possibility of retrofitting an opening in a base or pantry cabinet for either a microwave drawer, counter-top microwave or microwave built in with trim kit?
We have a standard counter top microwave built into a wall cabinet with a shelf that extends out to support the front. The cabinet it wide enough that we also have our toaster in there. It is cleaner and neater than I may have made it sound. Just some thoughts. SLN

As I recall Consumers Reports did a review on them a while back. You can find their "Kitchen remodel" special publication at your local Barnes and Noble. The top three models were all GE models.
http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/appli.../index.htm The microwave drawers are nice and work better for shorter cooks (but expensive): https://www.amazon.com/KB-6524PS-24-Inch...ave+drawer There are microwave garages that allow you to use any brand of microwave. You could probably build one for lots less: http://www.remodelista.com/posts/kitchen...ve-garage/

The microwave drawers are nice and work better for shorter cooks (but expensive). You can find them on Amazon.com. The microwave oven pulls out as a drawer. This is good for shorter cooks.
