If you purchase floating LVP flooring with a SPC (Stone Polymer Core) and you endure a flood, pull It up, dry it out and reinstall it. Plastic sheeting underpayment will not give a benefit in this situation.
Any free advice given is worth double price paid.

The house is in the desert and nowhere near a flood zone, but thanks for the input.

I think he was addressing me and my waterproof membrane. I'm worried about dog messes, not floods. I'm at the top of a hill, not worried about flooding either.
