A big project for Spring 2017 was this pine Wardrobe. If I recall right, I finished it with a Union No. 2 plane, and a single heavy coat of Tru-Oil. To be honest, it was a little 'furry' but it was very functional for the mother-in-law.
Today I remembered my polissoir and took another look at that wardrobe, now richened in color from 4 years of aging. I ran the polissoir over the whole thing and it's a lot smoother to the touch now. No dust, either!

Ivan, I just checked Youtube and there are several videos describing their use, but here's a link to making one out of a new "whisk broom" that looks to be about the simplest way one could be made...I may have to buy a new whisk broom!!!!!
Here’s a picture of the one I made. It’s 2” in diameter and 4” long. I took a 1-day workshop at the Berea College broom making department and each participant made 3 ‘brooms’. I made a whisk and a duster broom also.
