Back in the days when that saw was made (1950s), a 36" general use commercial shop band saw was pretty much the standard size with the larger format being a 42" saw. Those direct drive motors were smooth and quiet.
I have it's older sister. Turn of the last century era. It's some serious old iron. The babbit bearings had been changed to ball and the flat belt drive to V's decades before I got it. I spin it w/ a 7.5 HP 240v 3 PH.
