I just finished a coffee table with waterborne poly. I put 6 coats on the top, and decided that I should use the last of the finish in the can after the last coat. There wasn't enough left to cover the entire top.
Now looking at the top in raking light I can see that last coat because it is thicker than the last.
I have never used waterborne before, it's what I had on hand.
Is there a technique for rubbing out the finish to level it? Thinking about light sanding with 500 grit. I used a gloss finish and don't want to dull the top.
Thanks
