I made a charcuterie board out of hickory. I plan on using Tried & True Danish Oil ad the top coat. Is there a food safe stain or dye I could use prior to the Danish oil to add color?

I've used it on wood ornaments, under a lacquer spray finish it worked fine. I've been surprised that they haven't faded much over time either. John
I found this at Home Depot - others as well through a Google search. There appear to be a few different colors
