Would paint make them last longer??
Before I started cutting, I hit both sides w/some 60grit on
the belt sander. Took off that smooth, polished side and the
rough on the other side. Sanded the edges after the cutting was done.
Really exposed all the "grain".
I really wanted to let all that show through. Exposing the grain
is what it is all about. The Thompson treatment may last longer than paint.

If you are going down a river at 2 mph and your canoe loses a wheel, how much pancake mix would you need to shingle your roof?

To the OP, Clever use of material. My Dad would have approved.

Cool!! Yes, I'm a Depression Baby, too. It's an awful disease.
I did a raft electric motor frame in wood and used a gallon of TWS on it. Worked well and lasted longer than the raft.
You're laborer (pet) looks suspicious, however. Every dog we owned got into garden produce. Tomatoes finally ended up, out of reach. But we had dogs no bigger than cockers.

I gotta be honest, I'm not a fan of OSB- but I appreciate your frugalness and I love the concept. I'm gonna steal your idea and build a few of these for my garden.

At first glance, I thought those might be hanging portable toilets.
I've always kept "stuff" and glad I did/do. Has saved me many times from having to stop a project to go get a hinge or whatever. Most of the time when I go get a part, for example, the toilet, I get two.
But I did get ride of a bunch of stuff crowding a small shed. I saved the many rolls of copper and a few things worth while, but had the guy "Take it all" to clean it out. I save less now- only the stuff I know I'll use.

That must be the root of my problem...I never know what I'll be needing down the road.

But the beauty of looking for it, you find three other items you've forgotten about!
