Box#3, a bit different sort of box..

Stand/base is installed...

   
I left a "lip" out in front...to help support the doors..

   
3 counter sunk 3/4" screws and a bit of glue..set aside while I lay out and install a couple hinges..tools..

   
Normal for hinge work...

   
Hinge lay out..then mortise a hinge..

   
Close it up..

   
install the other hinge to this door..then lay the door over on the case..

   

The way this looks, I could just drill 6 pilot holes..and install the door...

   
Then see how it will work..

   
Then close the door..

   
will install door #2 tomorrow...

Hmmm, since most of the Tea I use, comes in bags in a box...figured this would be a way to store them..besides strewn all over the Kitchen....Could even store the "Fake" Sugar?  

Thinking of adding a bevel to the outside edges of the doors?  
Door #2 install today....IF the Dungeon Creek doesn't rise up to meet me...

Tea?   Black Tea...with a shot of Irish Creamer ( that I keep in the fridge)  I prefer Irish, my son prefer English Black Tea.

Door#2 has been installed..

   
Had to add tenons to the knobs....package said 1/4" tenons...holes in the knobs were a bit too small,, reduced the piece of 1/4" dowel down to match the hole in the back of the knob, then match a drill bit to the re-sized dowel..

   
Drill the 2 holes for the knobs, and glue them in place...and add a latch..

   
Starting to look a bit better..

   
One last step..involves a block plane called "Boy-Proof"..

Them corners were a bit tricky, though....


Has been sanded to 220 grit...awaiting a finish, of some sort....will also be finishing the first 2 boxes in Witch's Brew...

Another site's poster seemed to think that those 1/4" thick Ash feet were a bit too flimsy....and needed "stretchers" added...so...

   
A stretcher for each end....angled, a bevel where it lands...and a curve so it doesn't show , then..

   
One in the center....all three are glued in place.

Were given a coat of Witch's Brew, then wiped down...allowed to dry for a few hours...then..

   
Given one coat of...

   
Amber Shellac.....

Debate now is about whether to Witch's Brew the Tea Cabinet, then shellac....or...just 3 or 4 coats of Amber Shellac....stuff is a 2 pound cut right out of the can.

Tea Cabinet is now sitting on the Kitchen Counter....right beside the Toaster....went with 2 coats of Amber Shellac, 2 pound cut.    Sanded to 320 between the two coats...
