I've recently become enamored with the floating table top concept, and on the list is building a new kitchen table, once my daughter is old enough to stop damaging it. I'm thinking that it would be a good way to scratch that itch.
In looking around for ideas and inspiration, it seems that the vast majority of these are either hallway tables, or coffee tables. Is there something I'm missing where a floating top table is a bad idea in the widths commonly used for a kitchen table?
