Considering building one or two. Thinking bandsaw blades. Yes/no? Can a wood framed saw tension a 1/2" bandsaw blade enough?

Old time frame saws for joinery often had blades around 40mm or 1 1/2 inch wide.
Though I think a bandsaw blade will be unsuitable for other reasons. The tooth pattern isn't suitable in my oppinion and hardened teeth cannot be filed. Some bandsaw blades also seem to be in the thick side.

You are better off buying some frame saw blades, and designing your build to fit them. Highland link shows some at 700mm for ECE saws, which is about 27 inches give or take. You can get a xcut and a rip for less than $20, well worth it. And these can be resharpened.
